A new iOS application called "Quickpick - The Universal iOS Launcher!" allows Apple fans to launch actions from iOS 5's Notification Center. Importantly, the application is available to download in the App Store (for $0.99), meaning it does not require a jailbreak.
As outlined in the app's release notes, Quickpick allows users to initiate a phone call, compose a new SMS, MMS or email and open a webpage (or any iOS app that supports a URL scheme). Furthermore, it's fully integrated with users' address book, and supports a number of popular third-party iOS apps (including Facebook, IMDb and Navigon).
However, there are a number of limitations: first, users of the iPhone app can only create 10 entries in Notification Center; second, users of the iPad app can only create 20 entries. Though in the application, any number of entries can be created (more than 10 or 20 just won't be enabled on the iPhone and iPad apps, respectively).
As mentioned, Quickpick - The Universal iOS Launcher! is available to download in the App Store now for $0.99. Take a look at the universal app, and be sure to post your thoughts in the comments.
