It's One Soldier's Fight For Survival In iNoko Studio's Upcoming Dual-Stick Shooter, Half Breed
January 17, 2012
The team at iNoko Studios, in conjunction with Super Boise Studios, are on the verge of unleashing Half Breed, an action-packed game of revenge.
Captured by aliens, an unknown soldier awakes in a laboratory. With no recollection of anything prior, he instinctively springs into action, fighting off the creatures that surround him. During the fight, strands of energy emerged from the soldier's hands. It's suddenly obvious that the aliens have been conducting experiments, and the result is the power to create short range lightning bursts. Still unaware of his past, including how he was abducted, the unnamed solider begins his new journey to survive, seek revenge, and attempt to understand all that has happened.
Taking the role of our vengeful solider, you stare out into the horizon ready to combat whomever and whatever crosses your path. Use the left virtual joystick to move the character around the maps and the right virtual joystick to aim and fire your lightning power. The lightning power is short range but effective. You can use it to kill enemy aliens and destroy their technology. As you progress through the story, your character will stumble upon new abilities. Additional powers can only be used sparingly, in spurts, and are activated by new virtual buttons that will appear on-screen.
Half Breed features:
• Seven exciting levels - Two included for free and others available for $0.99.
- Boss battles at the end of each level provide even more super powers for our hero

The app was created by an active duty soldier while serving in Iraq. Throughout his year-long deployment, Clinton Akins created the story and layout for the game a little at a time. “I funded the project by saving all of my extra combat pay,” he says. After spending some time with his family and adjusting to everyday life after his return from Iraq in September of 2010, Akins was out shopping for app developers and working to get his game in the mobile app market. iNoko Studios is committed to donating a percentage of the profits to the Wounded Warrior Project to help those that were wounded in combat overseas.Half Breed is a universal app compatible with iPad, iPad 2, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, 32GB and 64GB third generation iPod touch, fourth generation iPod touch and newer running iOS 3.2 or later, and is scheduled to hit the App Store tomorrow as a free download. All features can be added at once via a single $1.99 in-app purchase. To have a chance at winning one of two promo codes to play Half Breed before it officially launches, leave a comment below before 6:00 p.m. PST tonight telling us the name of one of your favorite dual-stick shooters.
