The jailbreak "dream team" currently hard at work on developing a jailbreak solution for the iPhone 4S (and iPad 2) has recently made significant progress. In a recent Twitter update, @planetbeing notes that the sandbox difficulties @pod2g had previously mentioned have now been conquered, meaning we're one step closer to seeing the release of the all-important jailbreak solution. In the Twitter update, @planetbeing explained that Jay Freeman (@saurik), the Father of Cydia, helped the team overcome the A5 sandbox issues:
And we're out of the sandbox with @saurik's invaluable help! (well, at least there's a PoC) :D Turning out more complex than X-Gold 618. — planetbeing (@planetbeing) January 11, 2012Furthermore, iDownloadBlog notes that:
Separately, Joshua Hill (or p0sixninja) of the Chronic Dev Team has informed iDB that “All blocking issues have been solved. We just need to integrate things now.” He noted that this is a “very complicated jailbreak with lots of interworking parts.”Here's hoping we see the jailbreak solution launch soon. In the meantime, we'll be sure to keep you posted.
