The iPhone Dev-Team has recently released a new version of its redsn0w jailbreak tool (0.9.10b5), which fixes iBooks under iOS 5.0.1. Furthermore, the Corona jailbreak package - which can also provide iOS 5.0.1 users with an untethered solution - will soon receive an update that also fixes iBooks.
After jailbreaking their iOS device under iOS 5.0.1, numerous jailbreak fans realized that iBooks wasn't displaying text and images correctly for e-books which are protected by Digital Rights Management (DRM) technologies. For jailbreakers who often use the iBooks application, this was obviously a problem.
However, thanks to an update for the iPhone Dev-Team's redsn0w jailbreak tool, this iBooks issue can easily be fixed. If you've already jailbroken via redsn0w, plug your iPhone into a computer re-run the updated application (without ticking "Install Cydia"). This should correct the issue.
For those of you who jailbroke using Corona, the updated version (1.0.6) which addresses the iBooks issue should be available via Cydia soon.
