Jailbreak Only: ShakeToUnlock Gets An Update - Adds Support For iOS 5

January 10, 2012
ShakeToUnlock has recently received an update that adds support for iOS 5. The jailbreak tweak, which (as its name suggests) allows Apple fans to unlock their iPhone by shaking it, is currently available to download in the Cydia Store for free. As outlined by Redmond Pie, features of ShakeToUnlock include:
  • Unlock device using shake gestures (one or two shakes, even directional shakes are supported).
  • Unlock all of the time – stays alive even when the screen turns off.
  • Has a low battery consumption
  • Override the passcode if you desire.
  • Undim the device without unlocking – this is particularly useful for users of LockInfo or IntelliScreenX.
  • 5 settings for shake sensitivity.
  • An included toggle for SBSettings.
However, in the tweak's release notes the developer of ShakeToUnlock does acknowledge that the tweak could consume up to 25 percent of an iPhone's battery life during the day in order to function, which is a substantial figure. Regardless, ShakeToUnlock is available for free in the Cydia Store. Take it for a spin (or, rather, a shake) and be sure to post your thoughts in the comments.
