A Chance To Win A BattleBog (Universal) Promo Code With A Retweet Or Comment
February 28, 2012
AppAdvice has once again teamed up with FOR neXtSoft in order to offer you a chance to win one of 20 promo codes for BattleBog ($2.99) for iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch.
You probably think Boggle is just for those old people, right? Well, it doesn't have to be. BattleBog is an enhanced version of the easy to learn word game with plenty of fun new additions.
The BattleBog board consists of a 5x5 letter grid with the power-ups located at the bottom and score located at the top. Just like traditional Boggle, your objective is to create as many words as possible, longer is better. Tiles can be chained diagonally, horizontally, or vertically as long as they touch. Of course, you can't reuse any letter tile in the same word.
Three levels of difficulty are included to match nearly every player's capabilities. Easy provides plenty of time on the clock, only requires at least two letter words, and has the "Qu" tile. Used as the default, Normal mode is very similar to Boggle with a three letter word limit, a reasonable amount of time, and has the "Qu" tile. Moving to Hard difficulty raises the minimum to four letter words, reduces the counter further, and separates the "Q" and "U."
BattleBog also features three gameplay modes, two single player and one multiplayer. In single player Regular mode, you play until the time runs out and that's it. In Ladder mode, you still simply work to create words, however, there are levels and lives to worry about. As you progress through levels, new challenges will be introduced, such as timed tile shuffles and unusable blocks. Multiplayer uses Regular mode and can be done locally via Bluetooth or online through Game Center.
So, what about those power-ups? Utilize Jump to chain two tiles that aren't touching. Initiate Reuse to recycle certain rows of letters for a random set of new ones. When Lock is activated, letters won't be swapped for the next word completion. Good ol' Shuffle is there to randomly refresh all letter tiles. Obviously, these power-ups are limited, therefore, use them wisely when they do become available.
