Jailbreak Only: SiriBoard - Launch Siri Using A Home Screen Icon

February 29, 2012
A new jailbreak tweak called SiriBoard allows jailbreakers to launch the Siri interface from an app icon. Currently, it's only possible to enable Siri via one of two methods - either we hold down the Home button for a couple of seconds, or use Siri's "Raise To Speak" feature, which enables Siri when an iPhone handset is brought to the side of one's face. Personally, I never use Raise To Speak, and instead insist upon using the Home button when launching Siri (which, in all honesty, is a rare occurrence in itself). However, once SiriBoard has been downloaded and installed, users can activate Siri from an app icon. The icon, as you can see in the lead image, depicts the Siri icon and is titled "SiriBoard." It will appear on your Home screen after installing the jailbreak package. Touching the SiriBoard icon immediately launches the Siri user interface, as mentioned. For those of you who use Siri an awful lot, or who dislike holding down the iPhone's Home button in order to enable it, SiriBoard might deserve a place on your iPhone's Home screen. If this is the kind of tweak you're interested in trying out, head over to the Cydia Store and search for "SiriBoard." The jailbreak package can be downloaded free of charge. [via Redmond Pie]
