Veteran Photographer Releases Free Short Cut Version Of His Mega-Travelogue For iOS

February 29, 2012
In December 2007, professional freelance photographer Serdar Sunny Unal set out on a solo expedition to Latin American on his trusty motorcycle, Katirga. His once-in-a-lifetime five-month journey brought him from Los Angeles, California, to Buenos Aires, Argentina. In January 2011, he sold Katirga to help fund his most ambitious project yet, an interactive travel journal detailing his inter-continental trip. The project, dubbed Los Angeles to Buenos Aires (LA2BA), is an iOS book app released last December. It contains over 1,200 pages of photos and journal entries spanning 15 countries across 40,000 miles. Today a "Short Cut" version of the app was released. Los Angeles to Buenos Aires - Short Cut extracts around 400 pages from the original book app. LA2BA - Short Cut chronicles the first part of Serdar's expedition, which covers his trips to Mexico and Central America. Although considerably shorter than the full version, it is still packed with Serdar's breathtaking photos and amusing stories. Like the original book, LA2BA - Short Cut is available for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. It uses an intuitive touch and swipe action to flip its pages, and it includes an index of contents for easy navigation. The full LA2BA costs a staggering $12.99. But for a book app that has loads of quality content, the price may not be entirely unreasonably high. Fortunately, LA2BA - Short Cut is set at a far lower price point. Its regular price is $3.99, but it is currently being offered for free for the first 500 downloaders. So, download LA2BA - Short Cut now in the App Store at no cost while you can.
