Build Up The Studio And Rake In Blockbuster Profits In Universal Movie Tycoon

When it comes to simulation games, some pretty crazy ideas have cropped up as developers attempt to be unique in an overly saturated genre. While it doesn't seem any more spectacular in gaemplay than other offerings, I admit that the release of Universal Movie Tycoon is a fairly creative marketing scheme.
Developed by Beach Cooler Games and published by Fuse Powered, Universal Movie Tycoon takes advantage of Universal Studios' 100th anniversary in a big way. The game puts you in charge of Universal, including objectives that have you filming the company's biggest blockbuster films.
Starting out with a studio production office and a nearly empty lot, you must build up Universal Studios by creating reusable sets, equipment warehouses, and buildings for the many departments involved with filming movies. Of course, you'll also need to pave roads and parking lots, as well as beautify things with plants, statues, and other decorations.
However, that's not the big selling point for this game. Having official licenses to Universal content, you'll be able to buy the scripts for The Fast and the Furious, Uncle Buck, American Pie, The Big Lebowski, An American Tail, Jarhead, The Land Before Time, Back to the Future, Jurassic Park, E.T., and almost 30 others to help raise your popularity and revenues.
If you didn't guess, the more profitable selections aren't available until you've built up Universal's reputation and filming resources. Beyond scripts, further items to unlock include a director's trailer, star trailers, a makeup trailer, plus the aforementioned studio buildings.
They should be a given, but I'll mention the standard simulation game features. Each item will cost coins or Movie Magic tokens. Movie Magic tokens are also used to speed up building construction and movie filming. As usual, you earn more coins as you complete tasks in the game, although, Movie Magic tokens are replenished using real money via in-app purchases.
Universal Movie Tycoon is a universal app compatible with iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch running iOS 4.2 or later, and available in the App Store as a free download.
