The folks over at FireCore have launched a brand-new version of Seas0nPass, adding 5.0 (iOS 5.1) compatibility. This means fans of Seas0nPass can now update to the most recent version of the Apple TV OS (which adds a new interface, and a bunch of other new features), while still enjoying the many benefits FireCore's jailbreak software provides.
Seas0nPass's new version provides a tethered jailbreak solution, but this shouldn't be much of a problem, as FireCore explains:
Seas0nPass currently provides a tethered jailbreak for the new 5.0 (iOS 5.1) AppleTV software. Functionally, both jailbreak types are identical, the only difference being that a tethered jailbreak requires the AppleTV to be connected to a Mac/PC when first powering it on. Since the AppleTV doesn't have a battery, and is rarely ever powered off, this usually only needs to be done once.FireCore's aTV Flash (black) has also been updated, and is now compatible with the new OS. Apple TV 5.0 (iOS 5.1) adds a new interface, iCloud purchases, Genius recommendations, screensaver photos and on-device sign-up to our favorite set-top box, which is why the update is most certainly worth downloading. For more information on the recently updated Seas0nPass and aTV Flash (black), head on over to FireCore's website. And let us know if you're a fan of FireCore's jailbreak software in the comments!
