Flipboard's Cover Stories Finally Available On The iPad

March 1, 2012
The extremely popular personalized magazine app Flipboard has once again been updated with a number of new features and improvements. Foremost among the upgrades is the arrival of Cover Stories to the app's iPad edition. When Flipboard, originally an iPad-only app, became universal last December, it introduced Cover Stories along with its iPhone version. Now, Cover Stories can already be accessed on your iPad. Cover Stories collects some of the most interesting posts, be they news, photos or otherwise, that have been shared with you during the day. For both the iPhone and iPad editions, the update also allocates a third page of tiles for your favorite content, so you'll have easy access to the stories and updates that matter to you. Moreover, the appearance of the app has been redesigned with new typography and photo layouts. If you're a new user who's just about to discover the excellence of Flipboard, the update has you covered with an easy initial set-up, allowing you to choose the topics that you enjoy and start building your own personalized Flipboard right away. The new version also reiterates the presence of international content guides, some editions of which were launched as early as last December. Flipboard users in the U.K. and Ireland, Canada, Australia, France, Hong Kong and Taiwan may tap on the red ribbon to select their respective content editions in order to view content recommendations. Finally, a new French-language edition of the app is now available for readers whose devices' region is set to France. With consistent updates such as this most recent one, it's easy to see why Flipboard is considered by many to be the gold standard in personalized magazine-style content aggregation on the iOS platform.
