Good Glen And The Bad Eggs Is Eggstremely Smashing

March 30, 2012
Good Glen and the Bad Eggs would make for a really good band name, but as it is, it's the name of a new game for iPhone and iPad. Good Glen and the Bad Eggs is an iOS game released by the NSW Food Authority as part of an initiative to educate people about the importance of proper handling of eggs. For most people, eggs are a staple of a healthy diet. So, distinguishing bad eggs from good ones is a must. Good Glen and the Bad Eggs is a fun way for egg-loving kids and adults alike to learn about and be reminded of what makes a good egg good and a bad egg bad. The game is yet another modern adaptation of the classic Whac-a-Mole game. In a game session of Good Glen and the Bad Eggs, you have 30 seconds to tap and zap the bad eggs while letting the good eggs be. The good eggs are represented by Good Glen, of course, while the bad eggs are represented by Harry Hot Head, Buster and Dirty Bertie. Reading the profiles of each of these egg characters is effectively reading about the qualities of good eggs and the most common undesirable properties of bad ones. Good Glen is nice and clean, Harry Hot Head is hot because he wasn't stored in the fridge, Buster is cracked and Dirty Bertie is covered in chicken poo. The game's score system assigns points for each egg type. Tapping Good Glen results in a deduction of 40 points, while tapping Harry Hot Head, Dirty Bertie and Buster adds ten, 20 and 30 points, respectively, to your score. Note that the more similar in appearance a bad egg is to Good Glen, the higher the points you can get from tapping that egg. Good Glen and the Bad Eggs is available in the App Store for free. It may seem a tad simple and maybe even childish. But it's actually fun to play over and over again. Try to challenge yourself by beating your score while beating eggs for breakfast.
