GoldMiner OL is yet another modernized version of the Gold Miner game of yesteryear. It takes the basic elements of the classic game and primarily decks them out in graphics that are, in a manner of speaking, way more polished. GoldMiner OL replaces the gray-haired and gray-bearded main character of the original game with a golden-haired and golden-mustached new character. This new character seems intent on emphasizing his relative youthfulness with his burliness and even with his amusing dance moves before and after every game. See for yourself in the in-game footage below. If you can't see the video embedded above, please click here. GoldMiner OL covers a gold-digging expedition across all seven continents of the world: Oceania, Antarctica, South America, South Africa, Europe, Asia and North America. In each continent, you are to control the gold-grabbing claw being handled by the game's brawny protagonist. Of course, your targets are the bits of gold, which are surrounded by diamonds and less valuable ores. Naturally, the bigger the gold, diamond or ore that the claw grabs, the heavier it is and therefore the longer the time required to pull it towards level ground. Among the obstructions you will encounter are pesky rodents and flurries of smoke that reduce underground visibility. Like its inspiration, GoldMiner OL has a shop from which you can purchase mining equipment and other useful tools with the dollars converted from your hard-earned gold. For now, you can opt to spend your real-word dollars, $4.99 to be exact, in downloading GoldMiner OL for your iPhone in the App Store.
