Lamebo Vs. Zombies Turns Into A Lame Zombified Idea

Lamebo Vs. Zombies Turns Into A Lame Zombified Idea

March 26, 2012
There appears to be a new tactic being employed recently by a few game developers. I'm talking about the move to pull an existing game from the App Store and release the same game under a different name. An example of this is Jelly Lander, released just a week ago but apparently released nine months prior as Eboo Space Adventures. A more recent example is Lamebo Fighter, released just a couple of days ago but apparently released also nine months prior as Lamebo Vs. Zombies. What's up with that? Perhaps, having acknowledged that their games have unfortunately faded into oblivion, the developers are hoping to retry their luck by rebranding and rereleasing their games in the App Store. Only time and statistics can tell whether this strategy proves much the same as beating a dead lamb, I mean, horse. This idea of resurrection is somewhat apt (or ironic, depending on your perspective on the issue) when attached to a game like Lamebo Fighter. As indicated by its former title, Lamebo Fighter concerns an unlikely Rambo-inspired hero named Lamebo battling scores of the walking, crawling and flying dead. If you want proof that Lamebo Fighter is the same game as Lamebo Vs. Zombies, just watch the trailer for the latter below, and then watch the backstory video in Lamebo Fighter. Except for the game's names, the two videos are pretty much the same. Hence, same game. If you can't see the video embedded above, please click here. Lamebo Fighter is available for free in the App Store. Even if it's free, do you still see yourself trying out and enjoying a game that's practically rehashed from a previous material? Or do you think that's just lame?
