Let The Birds Tweet And The Flowers Bloom In Spring Cards

Let The Birds Tweet And The Flowers Bloom In Spring Cards

March 6, 2012
The beginning of the spring season is not until a couple of weeks from now, but spring is definitely already in the air as far as the App Store is concerned. Case in point: the very straightforwardly named Spring Cards. Put simply, Spring Cards lets you create digital greeting cards that are mostly spring-themed, although it's also possible to make cards that are themed otherwise and without any colorful flowers or sunny landscapes. It ships with a gallery of card templates for you to just add photos and text to, but it supports full customization, of course. The app implements a convenient drag-and-drop scheme in adding elements to a card, letting you add various types of decorations. You can include images directly from your photo library as well as change the font settings for your greeting card messages. When you're done, you have the option to add your card to your photo library, although the app automatically saves it in the app for further use or editing. You can also share it right away with your family and friends through Facebook, Twitter and, oddly, the Russian social network VK.com. (The developer, Sergey Ischuk, might be from Russia or Ukraine, where VK.com is most popular.) Spring Cards is an iPad-only app available in the App Store for $1.99. Note that the app is a hefty 93-megabyte download, perhaps owing to its extensive use of images. Like spring itself, Spring Cards sure aims to be picturesque.
