Meet The iOS App That Could Kick Your Butt

March 28, 2012
The iDevices we all know and love can fulfill almost every task in our lives. With help from apps like Camera+, we no longer need to carry a separate camera. Dropbox makes USB drives obsolete. Facebook and Twitter even make meeting friends face to face an unnecessary extra step. While your iDevice has undoubtedly changed your life, surely it has its limitations? Your iDevice, for instance, can't save your life ... can it? The app I want to tell you about today may have something to say about that. Meet Jiu Streetsu from Self Defense Solutions Ltd. Jiu Streetsu is, according to the developer, "the best Martial Arts app ever created for iOS." The package Self Defense Solutions has put together certainly looks impressive. Self Defense Solutions has provided a trailer for Jiu Streetsu, so you can get an idea of what to expect from the app: If you can’t see the embedded video above, click here. The stand out feature of Jiu Streetsu, beyond its excellent instructional videos, is the network of Facebook based "Local Communities." These communities will help users find training partners in their cities, colleges, and high schools. Jiu Streetsu also provides a 30-day coach simulated training program to help you, and other people in these communities, organize your training. Jiu Streetsu will launch on March 30. At launch there will be two versions of the app available, a free version and a paid one. The paid version will feature 20 techniques to combat frontal attacks. The free version will provide just five, but it will give you an idea of what you can expect from the full version. Over the coming months, three more apps will be released covering rear attacks, knife attacks and gun attacks. It's not clear, at this point, if these will come as free updates, or as separate apps. If you are looking to learn some martial arts for self defense, fun or fitness this may just be the perfect app for you. I can see the headlines now: "My iDevice saved my life ..."
