New Issue Of Pocket God Comics Promises Monsters, Murder And Mayhem
March 14, 2012
The dawn of Pocket God came about way back in 2009. Surely, back then its developers at Bolt Creative weren't expecting it to be such a smash hit that it would go on to generate one of the most successful and enduring franchises in the history of the App Store. The original Pocket God game, with its "playing God" mechanics applied to hapless island pygmies, later spawned not only a standalone sequel titled Pocket God: Journey To Uranus, but also an entire line of comic books. These comic books are available digitally and in full color through an app called, predictably, Pocket God Comics.
Pocket God Comics has been around since July 2010, and since then Bolt Creative, in partnership with Ape Entertainment and iVerse Media, has released 13 issues in the series. And today, March 14, the 14th issue is coming straight to the app as an in-app purchase worth $0.99, just like each of the previous issues. Pocket God Comics #14 is titled "Para-Abnormal Activity." As implied in the title, as well as in the excellent cover art above, this new episode sees our beloved band of pygmies facing their fears as they confront paranormal beings and other things that go bump in the tropical night. According to the comic's creators, "ghosts, a mystery, and a dubious murder make this an ooky-spooky, extra-kooky issue of Pocket God." Issue #14 also marks the conclusion of the current story arc of Pocket God Comics, so it should be more captivating than a typical episode in the series. Think of it as a riveting season ender to your favorite TV series about groups of people stuck in a mysterious island inhabited by smoke monsters.
If you're new to Pocket God Comics, you can download the app in the App Store for your iPad or even your iPhone for only $0.99. The first issue is free to download, whereas each of the other issues is available in-app for an additional $0.99. But if you've been enjoying the series since issue #1, simply wait for issue #14, also a $0.99 in-app purchase, to pop up in the app within the day.
