Add Notes, Media With Note'd

March 14, 2012
NOTE

NOTE'd ($1.99) by Suxxexx provides robust options in such a tiny package. Shopping lists, to-do items, homework planner. The list of possibilities can go on. Sure, you can use Apple’s Reminders or Notes, but this app is both of those in one.

First you’ll need to click the plus symbol to add a notepad. A gallery appears, where you can select one of 15 different notepads. Each has a unique design, such as: black leather, denim, and panda (to name a few).

Once you find the one you like you can either give it a name or just leave the default “NOTE’d” title.

But what can you put in your notepad? All sorts of stuff.

NOTE

Selecting the plus symbol inside the notepad will add a note. A piece of lined paper shows, where you can type whatever you’d like. You can also add a photo from your camera or photo album, a map showing your current location, a voice recording, or all of the above.

The note will show, along with a thumbnail of whatever media you attached, secured by a paperclip on the edge of the note. Perhaps the most clever part about this app is how you play your audio recordings.

A strip of tape will show, along with how long the recording is. Selecting it will start playing the recording, with a blue piece of tape peeking out from the side that counts your run time. This is also how you stop it.

Once your note collection gets larger you can bookmark notes to access them quicker, or you can also select the show all notes icon in the top left corner.

Essentially, this app is similar to Evernote, but without the cloud-based storage part. While your notes will be restricted to your iDevice, at least you won’t need an Internet connection. It would be nice if there was a way to share your notes, but this app isn’t hurting without it.

At $1.99, the app does seem a little pricey. But you can at least rest assured that it’s very versatile and open for possibilities.
