ReadNow For Mac OS Has A New Name, New Features, And Becomes A Free Download

Many iDevice owners use Read It Later and Instapaper to simplify and archive online articles. You can get Read It Later and Instapaper, plus numerous third-party apps for iOS that integrate these services. However, nowhere near as many are available for your personal computer, and that's why it's great to see one of the few Mac OS choices become free. Not only has ReadNow gone free, it was renamed Read Later and includes several improvements. So, how significant is Read Later becoming free? Only a couple other Instapaper and Read It Later apps exist in the Mac App Store, and none of them are free. In fact, one even costs $14.99. Most importantly, being able to freely acquire an app such as Read Later will allow you to take that same news archiving and reading experience you have on your iDevice to your Mac, which is where you'll be most likely to read long articles anyway -- that is, beyond your iPad. Similar to iOS offerings, Read Later connects to your Read It Later and Instapaper accounts to synchronize and download the articles, up to 1,500 total can be stored, for viewing whenever you choose. In addition, Read Later also offers display preferences, tools to add articles, and the ability to manage all of your existing archived articles. As I said earlier, Reader Later v2.0.2 contains improvements as well. Here are the listed changes and additions:
