Who Would've Thought That The Fate Of The Planet Would Rest In The Hands Of A Hipster?

March 27, 2012
Nuclear Hipster by Doriguzzi Studios is by far the most interesting game I've come across in the App Store in a very long time. First, there's the tongue-in-cheek humor of the name. Nuclear Hipster? What the heck does that even mean? Well, if you watch the game trailer below, you'll find out why the game bears that intriguing title. If my sole basis for purchasing a new game for my iOS device were the drawing power of its trailer, then upon seeing the trailer of Nuclear Hipster I'd have downloaded it within seconds. I think it's great that Chad, the developer behind Doriguzzi Studios, didn't content himself with a trailer made up only of in-game footages spliced together. Instead, not only did he make it a mix of stills of illustrations and shots of animation from the game, he also composed a theme song to serve as the trailer's soundtrack. If you can't see the video embedded above, please click here. As recounted in the rather funny song, Nuclear Hipster is the story of a hipster who built a retro robot dinosaur in hopes of rescuing his band members who were abducted by an indie rock-hating alien anarchist who's bent on nuking the planet and populating it with bear sharks. Whew! That's quite a mouthful. I'm hoping the game itself is as breathtakingly amusing. Nuclear Hipster is available now in the App Store for both iPhone and iPad for $1.99. Are you hipster enough to save a hipster band by solving fun puzzles and finding nuclear bombs?
