Coign of Vantage is a puzzle game based on the popular flash game of the same name. Players are shown a jumble of cubes that, when lined up properly, turn into a pixilated picture. Players must swipe up, down, left, right and diagonally to move around the cluster of unintelligible cubes. When they line up just right, a shape appears and locks into place and the puzzle is solved.
The game starts with 45 seconds on the clock and increases by 10 seconds every time a puzzle is completed. There are 90 different images that appear in random order every time a new game is played. There is also a variation on the game called “Ten on Time” mode. Players must solve ten puzzles within a minute and a half and their fastest time is recorded.
Bobblebrook recently updated their game to remove automatic hints after the first two puzzles. This has been the only real complaint that players have. Personally, I found the hints to be very helpful. My goal was always to try to solve a puzzle before the hint showed up. That way, I’d know I was doing well. However, the public has spoken and Bobblebrook listened.
