Control Undead Suburbanites With Special Toy Figures In ZombieBurbz
April 22, 2012
ZombieBurbz by WowWee Group Limited is a game of humans versus zombies. But the catch here is that the zombies are the game's protagonists.
The zombies in ZombieBurbz are just trying to lead a normal life, so to speak, in the suburbs, but their truly normal human neighbors fail to realize that. So, the humans form an angry mob to attack the poor, misunderstood, and, above all, undead suburbanites. But the zombies are not letting that happen without putting up a fight, and they need your help, human though you may be.
ZombieBurbz entails a rather interesting mode of controls. As the zombies' ally, you need to own a set of the four zombie toy figures tailor-made for the game. These toy figures, aside from unlocking the four chapters of ZombieBurbz, enable you to control your zombie's position in the game. They are apparently outfitted with special paddings that translate to multitouch inputs when used in the game, which is why the game recommends disabling multitasking gestures. See these pieces of hardware in action in the trailer below.

In the highly likely event that you don't own any of the zombie toy figures, you can still play the demo levels of ZombieBurbz. You can still resist the mob's attacks with diversionary stash o' cash, entrapping springboards, and nauseating burps, among other counterattacks. And in case you're wondering why the zombies don't just gobble the humans up, it's because they actually prefer eating garbaaaage to eating braaaains.
You can download ZombieBurbz in the App Store for free for your iPhone or iPad, and you can buy a set of ZombieBurbz toy figures in the WowWee AppGear store for $9.99. The game's developer calls this convergence of software and hardware "amplified reality." What do you call it?
