Gameloft has just announced that N.O.V.A. 3 will be making its way soon to iOS devices.
N.O.V.A. 3 is a sequel to 2010’s N.O.V.A. 2: The Hero Rises. The original N.O.V.A (Near Orbit Vanguard Alliance) game was released on the App Store in 2009.
In our N.O.V.A. 2 review in late 2010, we praised the game and said it was one of the best first-person shooters for iOS at the time and an enjoyable ride for new and old fans of the series.
A trailer for N.O.V.A. 3 was also released today that finds the protagonist, Kal Wardin, about to crash land on Earth. Click here if you can’t see the video.
We recently reported that the game might be using Epic Game’s Unreal Engine 3. But there is still no official word.
Gameloft hasn’t provided any further details, but is promising more information soon. We’ll let you know what we find out. If the graphics are as sharp as in the trailer, it should be an enjoyable FPS.
For those of you new to the N.O.V.A. franchise, N.O.V.A. 2 is available as separate apps for the iPhone and iPad for $6.99. The original N.O.V.A. is iPhone-only and $4.99 on the App Store.
