Peakour Is Definitely Not For Pea-Brains
April 7, 2012
There's quite a lot of parkour games available in the App Store, with Temple Run being one of the most popular in the genre and even outside of it. Also worthy of note is the excellent iOS port of Mirror's Edge, along with a bunch of other running games. And now, Gotta Pea has just added another title to the parkour game genre with its new physics-based release, Peakour.
Going by "Gotta Pea" and "Peakour" alone, you can expect to see a lot more puns of similar bent as you play this game about a pea who happens to be skilled in the art of physical obstacle avoidance. It even comes with a fake warning that says, "All stunts are performed by trained PEAfessionals. Proceed with caution!" There's also the "Peas wait" note in between levels. There's the "Special V.I.Pea. Awards" section where you can view your game achievements. And then there's … Okay, I'll stop with the pea puns now.

You can watch the above trailer to get an idea of the look and feel of Peakour. As you can see, the game is not a running game like Temple Run and Mirror's Edge. It's actually more like a multi-leveled puzzle game. In each level of Peakour, you have to place pieces of junk along the thrill-seeking pea's path and let its parkour moves do the trick of collecting bottle caps and landing on the portal leading to the next level. Easy peasy?
Peakour for iPhone/iPod and Peakour HD for iPad are available in the App Store for $0.99 apeas apiece.
