Pirate Quest Invites You On A Treasure Hunt With A Twist ... A Lot Of Twists

April 4, 2012
As in the recently released Super Catrio I, the key to advancing in the also recently released Pirate Quest is to actually collect keys. Both are puzzle games, but Pirate Quest is definitely the more puzzling, so to speak, of the two. The journey you'll have to take in Pirate Quest begins when you, a young pirate named Mars, unexpectedly receives a treasure map from a passing drunkard. So, you have a pirate and a treasure map. The only thing missing is a treasure island, which is exactly where you're headed. Lo and behold, the island is one of those mystical sorts, requiring you to find your way across various arrangements of floating, rotatable planks. These planks essentially make up the puzzles in Pirate Quest. If you can't see the video embedded above, please click here. In each level of Pirate Quest, you have to get the required number of keys to progress to the next level. These keys are placed at different points in the plank puzzle, and you have to rotate the correct pieces of wood in order for you to be able to walk towards the keys. Obstacles such as boulders and zombies appear in later levels to add to the challenge, whose solution may entail specific power-ups. Refer to the in-game footage above for an overview of Pirate Quest. Pirate Quest is a universal iOS game available now in the App Store for $1.99. Arrr!
