Ruckus Media Relaunches Its Book Apps Platform With Transformers And More
April 17, 2012
Ruckus Media Group has relaunched its book apps platform with the ability to track your kids' experience through any title in its Ruckus Reader series of interactive digital storybooks. Ruckus Reader book apps include a section that gives you personalize feedback as well as tips about your kids' reading progress. And to engage kids to read more and learn more, some of the most popular kids' entertainment brands have been licensed by Ruckus for its digital storybooks.
Included in the Ruckus Reader series are standalone iPad storybook apps based on characters from the Transformers, My Little Pony, and Chuck & Friends franchises. Each storybook app, or iReader, is aimed at developing book concepts, alphabetic knowledge, phonological awareness, phonics and word recognition, and reading comprehension among young readers.
The first title in an iReader is free, while the other titles are available via in-app purchase. I have tried the first title in Transfomers: Ruckus Reader, and it's a pretty comprehensive look at what the Ruckus Reader series as a whole has to offer. Driven by a meaningful story, an iReader title lets kids learn and have fun at the same time through an alternation of static pages, video clips, and mini-activities, including mazes and interactive spelling challenges. The trailer below highlights the other features of the Ruckus Reader series.
