WWDC 2012: What Happened To The Alerts?

April 25, 2012
Didn’t get your seat to this year’s WWDC? Well, you’re out of luck as the $1,599 tickets sold-out in just under two hours. Unfortunately, many might have missed out even though they thought they were covered. After all, a site created in January, WWDC Alerts, was supposed to tell customers when Apple made tickets available to this year's event. Yet, it didn't work out that way. Created by two developers, Anthony Herron and Aaron Wardle, the site today included this message:
2012 tickets have been announced and sold out. If you signed up with us before your number has been deleted from our database and backups. We hope you managed to grab a ticket in time. There were some delays with some of the SMS (sic) being sent out. We'll be writing a postmortem piece on this soon so hopefully we can share what we've learned.
Meanwhile, Herron went on Twitter to apologize:   Did you want tickets to WWDC and didn't get them? Are you going to the World Wide Developers Conference this year? If you’ve attended in previous years, tell us about your experience at WWDC in the comments below.
