Cookoo: The Watch For The Connected Generation

May 24, 2012
If you think about the words "watch" and "Kickstarter," chances are you will picture the Pebble watch. There is, however, a new, and fairly similar project on Kickstarter that is starting to cause a stir. Meet the Cookoo, from Peter Hauser. The watch has been labeled "the watch for the connected generation" and it is looking pretty impressive. The designer of the Cookoo created the following video, to talk you through his idea: If you cannot view the embedded video above, it is also available by clicking here. The Cookoo has been designed to help you manage your phone, without having to constantly check it. After connecting the watch to your mobile device via Bluetooth you will be able to monitor a variety of different functions. You'll be able to keep track of: reminders, alerts, text messages, low battery, new emails, or incoming phone calls. The battery life of the Cookoo is also quite impressive. The watch uses a standard button cell battery. The developer claims that, using this battery, the Cookoo will run for up to a year. Upon release, if funded, there will be a companion app for the device, called Connected App. With this app you will be able to control the alerts and notifications the watch receives. The Kickstarter project for Cookoo is looking to raise $150,000 by July 7. It is, at the time of writing, sitting at just over $15,000. If you want to support this project, visit the Kickstarter page and get investing. There are some nice rewards awaiting you there.
