Hallmark Go Cards Takes On Touchnote Postcards And Apple's Cards
May 5, 2012
Time was, when you wanted to send a special someone a greeting card, you'd go to a nearby bookstore and pick up a card from the Hallmark section. Now, you can simply use an app that prints and sends cards for you. Two of the more popular apps with such a functionality are Touchnote Postcards and Apple's Cards. But what of Hallmark itself, you ask? Well, the world-famous greeting card company has just launched Hallmark Go Cards for iPhone.
Hallmark Go Cards is a rather well-designed app that presents an assortment of greeting card templates and lets you personalize them with your own photos, messages, and even your handwritten signature. The app also has a clever concierge service that recommends cards to you upon answering several prompts. And to facilitate the addressing of cards, it has the ability to import contacts from your device and Facebook account. The app doesn't seem to support social media sharing except for an option to put up a Facebook wall post telling others that you've just sent a card using the app.
Hallmark Go Cards has five available categories, namely, Birthday, Just Because, Love & Flirts, Well Wishes, and For Laughs, plus seasonally appropriate cards. For now, the app also includes cards for Mother's Day and Father's Day.
Hallmark Go Cards is available in the App Store for free, while the cost of printing and posting to anywhere in the U.S. is fixed at $3.49 per card. Will you be using this app soon to greet your mom and pop on Mother's and Father's Day?
