Jailbreak Only: Dater - Add Timestamps To Photos Taken Using Native Camera App
by Joe White
May 30, 2012
A new jailbreak tweak called "Dater" automatically adds timestamps to images taken using the native Camera app.
Once downloaded and installed, all the images in your Photos app will receive timestamps - even images that were shot before Dater was added to your jailbroken iPhone. Furthermore, additional photos shot using the Camera app will also be "timestamped." (Don't worry - while timestamps appear in the Photos app, when exported, the timestamps on your iPhone-shot images won't show.)
In addition, users can also access "Image Info" when viewing a photo on their iPhone by holding down on the image, and accessing the copy-and-paste pop-up menu. Accessing "Image Info" results in a pop-up window appearing, which details all the information you'll ever need to know regarding the photo you're viewing: as you can see in the above image, size, date created, date last modified, dimensions and location are all displayed.
However, do remember that Location Services will need to be enabled in the Settings app in order for location-info to be displayed via Dater.
You can download Dater in the Cydia Store for $0.99 (via the BigBoss repository), provided your jailbroken iOS device is running iOS 5 or above. Enjoy, and feel free to share your thoughts regarding the tweak in the comments below.
