Remember To Update To The Latest Version Of Remember The Milk
May 15, 2012
"Our biggest iPhone app update ever." That's how the makers of Remember The Milk for iOS describe the popular cloud-based to-do app's version 3.0, which came out just yesterday.
The highlight of Remember The Milk 3.0 is the adoption of the UI of Remember The Milk for iPad, which was released a year ago, for Remember The Milk for iPhone. The most notable attribute of the adopted UI is its card stack metaphor, which is also present in other popular apps, including Twitter for iPad and the iPhone-only Sparrow. With this new interface convention, navigating between views in Remember The Milk for iPhone now involves horizontally swiping cards or panels in and out of sight. A side effect of this change is that the old swipe-to-complete gesture is no longer operative. Rather, a tap-and-hold-to-complete action is now required. Watch a demo of the new interface in the video below.

The update also introduces new "task" and "this week" views. Moreover, it adds a new bulk editing feature, which lets you complete and postpone multiple tasks at once, as well as edit their due date, priority, list, or tags. And finally, even though it's touted as a huge iPhone app update, Remember The Milk 3.0 brings support for the new iPad's Retina display.
Remember The Milk is available in the App Store for free, but pro features, including push notifications and unlimited auto-syncing, are withheld behind a $25-per-year in-app purchase. It's worth mentioning that while its pro subscription is not at all cheap, neither are its interface and, above all, its functionality.
