Colorful 30/30 App Arrives For iOS

June 7, 2012
Looking for a fully functional timer app for your iPhone/iPod touch or iPad? You might want to consider 30/30, a new universal app arriving today in the App Store. Created by Binary Hammer, 30/30 is a simple, yet attractive, timer app that uses gestures (not buttons) to get the job done. Along the way, you’ll experience subtle visual clues, animations, and other goodies to help you organize your day. The 30/30 app utilizes the work cycle concept, which says people are most efficient when focused on performing one task for a short period of time. At its core, this principal believes you should work on one project for 30 minutes and then take a break for an equal number of minutes. Hence, the title of the app, 30/30. Naturally, in the real world some tasks take more or less than 30 minutes to complete while break time might mean spending five minutes in the bathroom or a few seconds getting that third cup of coffee.

Nonetheless, the work cycle’s primary focus, that of adding time constraints to your day, still works regardless of how much time you dedicate to each task. Therefore, 30/30 allows you to customize your own unique schedule made up of little bursts of time of 60 minutes or less, using labels, a nice collection of icons, and different colors. For example, perhaps your day will include 60 minutes writing another chapter of the next great novel; or dedicating 15 minutes to chat with friends on Facebook; or taking 45 minutes to walk the dog. Your choices are endless. The absolutely free 30/30 app is available now in the App Store.
