Coming This Summer, The Curse Is A Puzzle Game With A Narrative Twist

June 29, 2012
The Curse is coming. And no, I’m not talking about The Black Pearl. Co-produced by Toy Studio and Mojo Bones, The Curse will hit iOS devices sometime this summer. While the app is a puzzle game, it also throws in an interesting narrative twist. To start the game, players unleash a terrible curse from an old book along with a mysterious figure known as The Mannequin, a master of mischief. There are more than 100 different puzzles to solve, spanning 10 different types – from riddles to logic. With a non-linear design, the puzzles can also be completed in any order that a player desires. As the puzzles are solved, the story will unfold with fully voiced cutscenes to reveal more about the quest and what has to be done to send The Mannequin back into the book forever. Throughout the app, players earn cogs to help gain access to the book’s secret compartment in a quest to solve the cryptic, final puzzle. Here’s a quick teaser trailer.
