June 18, 2012
Looking for a small speaker with a big bang? A new Kickstarter project, the EDGE.sound, is an iOS-device compatible Bluetooth speaker offering long battery life and strong sound. Manufactured by CUBEDGE, a product design company, the speaker features Bluetooth 3.0 technology and weighs in at less than a pound while measuring 5.9 inches x 2.4 inches x 2.1 inches. Here’s a quick video about the product. Click here if you can’t see the video. CUBEDGE promises anywhere from 10-14 hours of battery life with the speaker’s rechargeable battery. EDGE.Sound also contains a microphone, so users can use the product for a conference call or a FaceTime session. If you don’t have a Bluetooth-compatible device, there is also an AUX-in port to plug in a variety of other electronics. The speaker is also environmentally friendly. EDGE.Sound is built with non-brominated flame retardants and no PVC. It is also made with a recyclable aluminum enclosure. As of today, the project has raised almost $37,000 of its $130,000 goal. There are 10 days left in the Kickstarter campaign. For $130, you can receive a black speaker while 10 dollars more will net you a speaker of your color choice – black, white, or charcoal gray. Even if the product doesn’t reach its funding goal, CUBEDGE is planning on putting EDGE.Sound into production.
