GoTranslate has updated to version 2.0 with a brand new user interface and improved support for managing translations.
Probably the biggest change in the app, from prolific developer lightroomapps, is instant translation support for the more than 66 possible languages – spanning everything from English to Urdu.
The robust translation history feature has also been improved with the ability to sort and search by source, translation, and date. And the app now features iCloud syncing support so users can recall their translations on multiple iOS devices.
The history feature is also available even if your device is offline.
Along with removing the advertisements, GoTranslate now has native iPad support as well.
GoTranslate is a universal app designed for the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad. It can be purchased for $1.99 in the App Store.
While I thought the translations looked to be pretty accurate (using my less-than-perfect Spanish skills), there seems to be more than a few similar options out there for App Store buyers.
For example, apps like the $0.99 iTranslate Voice, can understand and translate spoken words and phrases right along with entered text, which definitely might come in handier for real-world situations. Even though it is just designed for the iPhone, it's a dollar cheaper as well.
