Turn-Based Multiplayer Support Finally Gets Welded Into W.E.L.D.E.R.

June 21, 2012
The popular iOS game Word Examination Laboratory for Dynamic Extraction and Reassessment, or W.E.L.D.E.R. for short, has been bitten by the Draw Something bug. And by that I mean that W.E.L.D.E.R., which has just been updated to version 2.0, now has a multiplayer mode. F.I.N.A.L.L.Y. Excitingly called W.E.L.D.E.R. Wars, the new mode lets you play against your friends or random opponents over Game Center. And as in Draw Something, the multiplayer setup in W.E.L.D.E.R. is turn-based. To help you win the wars you're engaged in, you can use power-ups for swapping letter tiles or surprising your rivals with Mine or Toxic tiles. You can also taunt them via the game's built-in chat support for good measure. In line with the multiplayer integration, a new 2 Player Wins leaderboard has been added to the game. Also, as an incentive, you get to gain Gigawatts every time you wean a W.E.L.D.E.R. War. What's that? You want more Gigawatts? Then try conquering the Weld of the Day. Beginning today, you will be notified of a new word to weld every day for your chance at earning Gigawatt bonuses. And if that's still not enough, you can tweet the Weld of the Day for additional Gigawatts. Furthermore, W.E.L.D.E.R. 2.0 brings an undo button in the iPhone version, discounted prices for Wrench power-ups, and the obligatory performance optimizations. Compatible with both iPhone and iPad, W.E.L.D.E.R. is available in the App Store for $0.99. Let the W.E.L.D.E.R. Wars begin!
