Updated Fuze Join App Brings Video Conferencing To The iPhone

June 14, 2012
FuzeBox has brought its popular video conferencing service to the iPhone with the latest update of its Fuze Join app. Released this week, the banner feature of version 5.0 is the ability to participate in high-definition video conferences with your iPhone via a Wi-Fi or cellular connection. Fuze previously had an iPhone app without video, but took it down last year and rebuilt it from the ground up, according to a TechCrunch interview with FuzeBox CEO Jeff Cavins.
"We just wanted to do something completely different and much more advanced," he says. "We want to put personal telepresence in the palm of your hand."
Along with video, Fuze Join users can view any other shared content including screen shares, images, or business documents. Presenters can advance slides and even upload supported files directly from an iPhone. The app also allows users to chat with everyone or privately with anyone in the meeting. An audio conference can be joined via VoIP or have Fuze call your iPhone. Fuze Join is designed for the iPhone and can be downloaded in the App Store for free. Other fees for the service do apply. For the iPad, the Fuze app is also available free in the App Store.
