Yelp Adds 'About Me' Section And Business Photos To Their iPad App

The Yelp app has certainly seen its fair share of changes and additions over the years, albeit debatable on helpfulness. Unfortunately, today's update follows that trend of hit and miss, adding business photos and limited access to the About Me section.
The About Me section provides a quick way to view your profile, reviews, check-ins, tips, bookmarks, friends, tips, and compliments. Basically, a quick shortcut to everything you've submitted or can manage. However, Yelp's implementation of this section within the iOS app is half-baked at best.
Specifically, the About Me section is only viewable when using the app on an iPad and offers very few management tools. So, while you can now quickly find your reviews and so on, there's no ability to correct or otherwise modify them. Overall, it's a handy feature, but isn't extremely useful.
Thankfully, business photos have been implemented fully. Displayed for all iDevices, the business photos appear alongside entries in search results. The pictures consist of company logos, storefront photos, and products. So, well done, but it doesn't make up for the previous lackluster effort.
For the finale, Yelp makes a move that can't fail. Listed last in the change log, "Introducing support for our newest country: Amercia" takes advantage of the Romney app slip-up to divert attention. In fact, it worked so well that at least a few users submitted five-star reviews simply to applaud the joke. How's that for having an Ace up your sleeve?
