A Chance To Win Emoji 2 For iPhone

July 6, 2012
AppAdvice has once again teamed up with iCandyApps, our latest AppAdvice Daily podcast sponsor, in order to offer you a chance to win a copy of Emoji 2 ($0.99) for iPhone and iPod touch. Can't wait to get your hands on those hot new Emoji icons found in iOS 6? Don't worry, we've got you covered with today's giveaway. Emoji 2 is able to turn your iPhone or iPod touch into an Emoji generating machine. It allows you to utilize over 460 classic Emojis and 300 brand new ones in any app that allows keyboard input. The app allows you to add Emojis to your SMS conversations, notes, emails, and what have you in two very different ways. The first and most non-intrusive way is by copying an icon from Emoji 2's vast library by tapping on it and then pasting it into an app. The downside, of course, is that you can only copy one icon at a time, creating a bit of a hassle if you want to utilize multiple icons. This is where the second method comes in, but it has its own downsides as well. To have full keyboard access to all of Emoji 2's icons, you're going to need to go through a few steps. The first is to allow Emoji 2 access to your Contacts app. Apparently the only way to provide you with the new set of over 300 Emoji icons is to place them all into your address book. To do so, just flip the big yellow switch on the app's main screen. This is definitely not the most ideal situation, so if you're already turned off by the idea, we don't blame you. If, however, you have no problem having more than 300 new items in your address book, continue to follow along. The next step is to enable the Japanese Romaji keyboard from within the Settings app. So pop it open and then tap on General, Keyboard, International Keyboards, and finally Japanese Romaji. Simple, right? Now when you access your keyboard, just tap on the world icon in the bottom left corner of the screen and type the letter "J".  This will cause the new set of Emoji icons to appear in a scrollable bar above the keyboard. You can also tap the arrow on the right side of the bar to view the icons in a much easier to manage grid. If at any time you grow tired of having over 300 new items in your address book, don't panic. You can easily remove them all at once by launching Emoji 2 again and flipping the big yellow switch on its main screen. To have a chance at winning one of two Emoji 2 promo codes, simply retweet this article before 11:59 p.m. PDT tonight (July 6).
