CloudOn Adds More Third Generation iPad Enhancements, Protected File Support And More
July 9, 2012
Launched in January, the CloudOn app for iPad is a great, free way to have Microsoft Office access on the go. Over the past several months the app has gained expanded cloud storage and file format support along with better file management. In the very latest update, version 2.0.55, CloudOn for iOS includes more third generation iPad optimizations, even greater file compatibility, and improved PowerPoint presenting.
Third generation iPad owners have already been provided enhanced graphics for the Retina display, however, now there's even more high-resolution imagery in the file manager user interface. Although, most third generation iPad owners will likely be much happier to hear that the CloudOn app now supports iOS dictation.
Benefiting all CloudOn users, the v2.0.55 update also adds open password protected Microsoft Office file support and a minimalist UI for slide show mode of PowerPoint files. To make previewing and presenting on the iPad much cleaner, the status and menu bar has been greatly trimmed to consist of just the list icon menu access button at the very top-left.
CloudOn is compatible with iPad running iOS 4.2 or later, and is available in the App Store as a free download. Use of the CloudOn iPad app requires a free CloudOn account, as well as free or paid membership with Dropbox, Google Drive, or Box.
