Keep Track Of Your Daily Income To Really Understand Your Finances
Daily Income ($1.99) by Indigo Beta is a finance app for those who want to keep track of how much money they have coming in on a daily basis. Not everyone needs to know what their profit is every day, but for those who do, this app can help.
All the user needs to do to keep track is enter money that is made on a daily basis. If you sell on eBay, Etsy and Craigslist, have apps in the App Store, run your own business, work as a freelancer, or otherwise are responsible for your own income, you may want to be able to keep track of how much money you’ve made on a particular day.
Earlier this week, we told you about Daily Income. Our own Aldrin Calimlin mentioned that, as a freelance, he can see the usefulness of this app. Boy is he right. I’ve been keeping a pen-and-paper list (analog, if you will) of my income in the same way since I started freelancing. This app works better and faster than a coffee stained piece of paper that will inevitably get lost when I clean my desk.
When the app is first opened, users are given a quick tutorial, but that is really not needed. All you have to do is tap the “Add New Income” icon and start typing. The entries are automatically dated for whatever the current date is and the only thing you enter is a number. This simplified way to keep track of incoming money keeps you from putting off adding entries.
Once entries begin to add up, you can see your income history by month and by year. There is even a chart that shows your lowest, highest and average daily income. You can also send your financial reports either as an email or a PDF.
Even though I like how simple it is to use, I wish the user had a little more control over entries. For example, if I forget to enter my income one day, I can’t adjust the date. This can be frustrating for busy sellers and self-employed workers who just don't have the time to enter monies every day. I’d like to see this added in a future update.
Other than the fact that you can’t adjust the date, this finance app is a great way to keep track of your daily income. It is easy to use, minimalistic in design and doesn’t clutter your record books with a lot of added bells and whistles. The price is a little steep at $1.99, but you could always just subtract that amount from your daily income.
