Yelp 6.0 Is Here To Help You Find The Best Places In Town
July 27, 2012
Yelp, the sole "Essential App" in our Local Advice Apps AppGuide, has been updated to version 6.0.
You don't need a monocle to see the big changes in the official universal iOS client of the popular location-based service.
First of all, the iPhone version of the app has a brand spankin' new business page. The redesigned business page makes for easier browsing of business details, photos, reviews, and tips.
On top of that, there's a new "pull down and release" gesture that instantly shows the gallery of photos for the business currently being viewed.
The latest update of the app also includes support for Yelpy Insights. Launched last April, Yelpy Insights lets you find businesses that match a specific interest. Perfect if you're looking for a restaurant for vegetarians or a bank for veterans.
Also on the new version of Yelp for iPhone, the ability to compliment and like tips has been added while navigation for logged out users has been updated.
As for the iPad version of the app, the update brings the following improvements:
Yelp 6.0 for iPhone and iPad is available in the App Store for free. "This update is literally filled to the brim with awesomeness," says the Yelp team. "We're not joking — we had to get an intern to stand on the top of it just to get it zipped up and shipped to the App Store."
