Get Posterized By Gasketball's High-Flying Free Play
August 9, 2012
Lately, I've been playing a lot of IAP done right. From the just-updated Fairway Solitaire to the tried and true Flick Home Run, I've been killing hours on the developer's dime. But there are always more hours to kill, so I've added another hit to my freemium stable: Gasketball.
We previewed the physics-based hoops puzzler just last week, and it arrived sooner than expected in its final, fun form. The gameplay is pretty much identical to what you saw in that article's lengthy demo, though certain elements have been tweaked for better smoothness and a more organic "slingshot" feel. Essentially, Gasketball is a glorified game of obstacle-filled H-O-R-S-E, and you can play solo or online as you take up the crown of king of the court.
If you want a solid, gratis gaming experience, maker Mikengreg -- creator of the critically-acclaimed Solipskier -- lets you in free on the first of four worlds, though multiplayer map editing will be limited to the more basic barriers. Still, there's plenty of replay value for users interested in saving a few bucks.
For the rest of us, a one-time $2.99 buy-in will unlock every element of the game, and you'll also receive free updates with new levels and characters as the developer supports the game going forward.
So hurry to the App Store and earn that "swish" bonus, because Gasketball is a slam dunk.
