Get The Best Videos Delivered To You With Vodio, Now For iPhone
If you’re bored, there’s no better way to pass the time than by watching videos. But maybe you just don’t know what to look for? Vodio, which I reviewed a while back, is an app that cures this problem.
As I mentioned in my review, Vodio is not an app for watching full-length movies or television shows, but rather just videos from around the Web. Vodio is able to be streamlined to suit your needs and wants by selecting various “channels” that interest you, such as Technology, Movies, Sci-Fi, and more.
I loved the app on the iPad because of the unique carousel navigation system, which made going through all of your channels a breeze. Everything is color-coded too, for easy recognition of what’s what. Even though you were asked to set up your Vodio by picking five broad topics on the initial launch, you were able to add more channels at any time, so you really would never be bored again.
Vodio features comprehensive playback of videos (including in SD or HD quality), and you could even go into full-screen mode. Selecting a thumbs up or down will customize your channels even further to your tastes, which is pretty cool. Think of it as the Pandora for video. Videos could also be shared with friends.
Today, Vodio got a big 2.0 update to make it even better. First, it’s now a universal app, so it isn’t just for your iPad anymore! Now you can always find the hottest new videos right from your iPhone or iPod touch.
Vodio now features a Highlights channel, which can grab the best video content from your selected channels, social networks, and topics that you like. These highlights are custom tailored to suit you, and not anyone else. Users are able to create their own Vodio accounts now in order to sync all of their content between various iPhones and iPads.
