Sprint Ups Ante, Now Offering $100 Cash Back For Each iPhone 4S Purchase

Sprint, the nation’s third largest cellular provider, really wants to sell you a smartphone – not next month, but right now. One week after announcing steep iPhone 4S discounts, the company is now offering $100 gift cards to anyone who buys a new smartphone.
This special deal, which runs through Sunday, Aug. 26, covers any smartphone purchase, including the 4S, and Samsung’s Galaxy S III, among many others.
Buyers will receive their $100 through an American Express gift card.
According to Business Insider, Apple retail stores will match Sprint’s latest deal.
Earlier this month, we reported that Sprint was offering the 16GB model of the 4S for $149.99 with a two-year contract. Additionally, the company is waving their $36 activation fee. The carrier also reduced the prices of the 32GB and 64GB 4S models by $50 each, and waived activation fees for them as well.
As a reminder, these deals, which sound great, are in response to the likelihood that Apple will unveil their next generation iPhone on Sept. 12. The sixth generation handset is expected to arrive in stores nine days later, on Sept. 21.
