Preorders For New iPhone To Begin Friday, Sept. 14

September 11, 2012
Despite previous news to the contrary, MacRumors is reporting that Apple will launch iPhone preorders beginning this Friday, Sept. 14. Last month, it was reported that preorders would begin immediately following Apple’s fall event, which is tomorrow, Sept. 12 beginning at 1 p.m. EDT. According to the report:
We're hearing that certain portions of Apple's sales support team are significantly increasing their staffing levels beginning at 6:00 AM Eastern on Friday, with a major surge for the initial shift beginning at that time and a sustained level of high staffing for at least the remainder of the day. It is unclear whether preorders would begin immediately at the 6 a.m. shift start or some time shortly afterward, but these staffing levels suggest that customers may have to wait until the end of this week to pre-order their new iPhones for delivery a week later.
The next iPhone could arrive in U.S. stores on Friday, Sept. 21. Source: MacRumors
