Quirky App Of The Day: Zombie Toon Brings A Cute Side To Zombies

I wasn't sure how zombies could be cute. Let's face it, people. They're rotting corpses that have lost the logical realization that they should be dead. There's nothing cute about being slack-jawed because you're missing your mandible. However, Zombie Toon does a pretty good job of convincing me otherwise. If a zombie girl in a cute little dress, with a bow in her hair, came up to me and asked me if she could have a nibble of my brain, I might actually consider it.
Zombie Toon allows you to fully customize a zombie. You can change the hair, eyes, mouth, heart, clothes, shoes, and accessories. Once you're done, you can save them to your camera roll, or you can share them through Instagram or Twitter.
Down in the left corner is a zombie unicorn in front of a rainbow. It looks like Tim Burton decided to take over My Little Pony. I just wanted to point it out because I thought it looked pretty awesome.
When you tap on the bow tie of the zombie, there are three different options. The "make zombie" option takes you through the putrefaction process utilized by the solaris virus in explanation of the likelihood of a true zombie apocalypse. I'm just kidding. It's where you customize your cute zombie. I thought it was pretty self-explanatory.
The icons along the bottom depict what it is that you're customizing. If you need to start all over, just tap the arrows on the right side. I couldn't find a way to reverse the change that I just made without wiping the whole slate clean. If I added hair but decided that I didn't want hair, I had to start all over. However, it wasn't that big of a deal. I could still change the different types of hair without starting over. I just couldn't remove it completely.
The "colors" option sends you to a coloring pages gallery. You can choose a coloring page and use the rainbow button to choose your colors. You can also share and save these pictures as well. For example, I'm working on a page to save as my avatars for Twitter and iMessage.
The gallery option is actually the artwork of a contributing artist named Kimberly Gomez. There are three different galleries you can slide through which showcase her personal artwork. Mainly, they're a bunch of awesome zombie pictures. She's got some great talent, so take the time to go through them.
Zombie Toon is available at the App Store for $1.99.
