The Clear Interface Makes A Move To The Stock Market

After invading weather apps, the color-adaptive interface pioneered by Clear has made its way to a new stock market app, yStock.
And here’s the thing – it really works nicely. Instead of focusing on charts and statistical data, stock performance is represented by color. Users can focus on one stock only, or with a larger portfolio, look at a card view that can feature up to nine different stocks or stock indexes.
Searching and adding stocks was very simple and easy to do, and in a few minutes I was able to fill my screen very quickly.
The yStock app is made for the iPhone/iPod touch, but is compatible with the iPad. It is available to download in the App Store for $0.99. I’m a little disappointed that the app isn’t designed specifically for the iPad, since I think the color gradients would look great on the tablet's Retina display.
But if you’re interested in an iPad stock app, I highly recommend Stock Market HD, which just recently introduced an ad-free paid version for $0.99 in the App Store.
