Treat Your Friends Right With New Social Gifting Platform Treater
September 30, 2012
Do you like sending gifts to your friends? If yes, then you're in for a treat as soon as you download the recently released Treater app for iPhone.
Just like Karma, which was acquired by Facebook last May, Treater is an app that serves as a social gifting platform.
With Treater, you can easily send real gifts to your friends, specifically your friends on Facebook. Indeed, Treater's tagline appears to be: "Don't just like your friends, Treat them!"
Obviously, Treater requires that you sign in using your Facebook account before you can use it. Once you do, you'll be instantly treated to the app's friendly interface.
This interface lets you easily pick a Facebook friend and a treat to send to him or her. The treats you can send, which are made available by Treater's partner merchants, run the gamut from cupcakes to mani pedis. You can even customize a treat for your special someone.
You also have the option to personalize your treat by attaching a photo or a message. Then, you can choose to have the recipient notified of your treat via text, email, or Facebook. But before your treat is sent, you must first, of course, pay for it by entering the details of any of your credit cards in the app.
Speaking of credit cards, your treat can be redeemed by your friend simply by showing the Treat Card on his or her smartphone. This Treat Card is then run like a credit card at checkout.
Designed for iPhone but not yet optimized for iPhone 5, Treater is available now in the App Store for free.
With Treater, you can give real gifts to your friends as you give the satisfaction of occasion-based or just-because generosity to yourself.
