The Sky Is No Longer The Limit In New Vertically Challenging Game Sonic Jump
October 17, 2012
Already, there are a number of games in the App Store that feature Sonic the Hedgehog. But for popular game publisher Sega, it seems that you can never have one too many Sonic games. This is affirmed by the release of Sonic Jump for iPhone and iPad.
As you might have guessed from the latter part of the name, Sonic Jump is a vertical scroller that involves a lot of jumping. But before you charge it with the offense of copying Doodle Jump, know that Sonic Jump had previously existed years ago as a game for Java-enabled mobile devices.
Indeed, Sonic Jump appears to be an upgraded version of the original Java game. Of course, given the advanced capabilities of the iOS platform, it's only to be expected that the new Sonic Jump is better, faster, and stronger.
In Sonic Jump, you play as as the supposedly better, faster, and stronger title character. Alternatively, you can also play as one of his friends, including Tails and Knuckles. Either way, you have to jump on platforms in your bid to go higher and higher.
The game offers two modes, namely Story Mode and Arcade Mode. The former offers 36 fixed levels, while the latter offers such great heights as you can manage to reach.
The game takes you to three different Sonic worlds, including the Green Hill Zone. In addition, it pits you against Dr. Eggman aka Dr. Robotnik in head-to-head boss battles.
Sonic Jump is jumping onto the App Store tomorrow, Oct. 18. We'll have a full review of the game shortly thereafter, so make sure to jump back here on AppAdvice.
